My name is Sy Unpingco. I am the founder and chairman of the Hafa Adai Golf Classic and the Chamorro Golf Club of Northern California for over 25 years.

More than two decades ago, the Annual Hafa Adai Golf Classic started in San Jose, California in 1982.The continuing success of the Classic came from the strength and commitment of the Board of Directors of the various clubs, with additional support from the golfers from Guam, the U.S. Commonwealth of Northern Marianas, and other Chamorro golfers within the United States.

The golf clubs throughout the years have committed themselves to hosting the Classic. Each club’s unique success optimizes the pattern for others to follow.

Clubs that have hosted the Annual Hafa Adai Golf Classic for more than two decades are as follows: Hazard Busters of Sacramento, Chamorro Golf Club of Northern California, San Jose, CA., Latte Golf Club of Monterey, Todo Fino Golf Club of Southern California, Marianas Golfers Association of San Diego, Chamorro Golf Club of Washington State, and recently included in the annual rotation: Para Golf Club.
